Daniel Birkman

Born in Nuremberg in 1987

(English version below)

Daniel Birkmann shows himself to be a quiet, consistent researcher. He is particularly interested in people and events from history. His protagonists can be seen somehow, but they usually remain vague or completely unrecognizable. He shows us what we usually cannot see. But it also shows us that the view into the past becomes imprecise and blurry as distance increases.

His pictures have already been purchased by various companies and institutions in the region and are part of the art collection of the professional association ETEM in Nuremberg. His work is part of the joint projects “Approaches” of the Faculty of Education at FAU Erlangen Nuremberg (Catalogue Nuremberg 2014) and “Human Rights” of the bfw Nuremberg (Catalogue Nuremberg 2014). 2015 participation in the international exhibition “Fading Memory” in the KunstRaum Weißenohe (catalog Krakow 2015), 2017 purchase of his works for the exhibition “In The Outside Art Tour Part II” in Rotterdam.

Daniel Birkman

born in 1987 in Nuremberg, might be regarded as a quiet and steady investigator. Most of all he is interested in people and incidents from the past. Even if his protagonists are somehow visible, they remain indeterminate or even beyond recognition. He's about to show us what we usually can't see. Furthermore he shows us how a gaze into the past will lose precision and must get unclear with increasing distance.

His work became part of private and commercial collections in the Nuremberg area. In 2015 he took part in the 'Fading Memory' exhibition at Weissenohe and 2017 'In The Outside Art Tour Part II' in Rotterdam (NL)
