The art space IDYLLEREI or the Outsider Atelier is recommended as a place to examine the established values in the art world. How is art created? Where does it begin - where does it end? Is that important? In the Hirtengasse project space, these artists take us into a wide range of perceptions, questions, reflections, solutions and answers, combined with a colorful variety of creative techniques. IDYLLEREI at the Outsider Art Fair in New York, March 2nd. - March 5, 2023

IDYLLEREI at Outsider Art Fair in New York, Mar 2 to Mar 5, 2023

Daniel Moser (39), a Nuremberg artist with severe visual impairment, represented the IDYLLEREI of Lebenshilfe Nuremberg at the OUTSIDER ART FAIR in New York City - personally.

He sees the world as if through the tube of a ballpoint pen, because most of the human field of vision remains closed to him. Nevertheless, Daniel Moser is an illustrator, one who is dedicated to the details and stories of world cities. His protagonists prefer to inhabit intricate networks of houses, streets, rivers, railways, construction sites, airports, etc. and embarrassing or bizarre encounters always happen there, and fantastic things and types can be found.

Daniel's view of Paris comprised 16 sheets in A3 format. The work was shown in Paris in 2019 and in the ITE Museums in Finland in subsequent years. Now he shows us “his” New York, much smaller with six sheets, but again very lively, a collection full of absurd episodes.

“London” is already finished, a full-fledged city map measuring 150 x 140 cm. Sidney is currently being worked on, earlier plans included Boston and Tel Aviv.

The fair: From March 2nd to 5th, 2023, art collectors from all over the world will visit the OUTSIDER ART FAIR in New York City - the studio from Nuremberg is the only German participant.

Daniel Moser will not only present his own work, but also the works of five other artists: Maaz Ali, Thomas Oram, Efthymia Sampsonidou, Nina Weber and Nilüfer Yildirim.

They have also been selected to participate. Daniel will most likely not meet any other studios from Germany. The hurdles to exhibiting at the Outsider Art Fair are simply too high for German exhibitors. However, we want to use the opportunity to meet globally active collectors and galleries, to establish and deepen contacts. The large collections of Outsider Art are mainly found in the USA. That's not the only reason why it is outsiderartfair.com The world's largest and most important trade fair for the art of people with psychological or mental disabilities, it is also the organizers' many years of experience and special commitment to their "very special" clientele. The OAF celebrated its 30th anniversary last year.

WITHOUT FILTER exhibition in the Martha Café Nuremberg, 10.2. - 3/29/23

WITHOUT FILTER (Without Filter) Exhibition at Martha Café Nuremberg, Feb 10 to Mar 29, 2023

Friday February 10th, 7:30 p.m., Marthacafé, Marthastraße 35

Outsider art from the Nuremberg art space IDYLLEREI

The Marthacafé is a cultural meeting place in the east of Nuremberg. It stands for extraordinary artistic and social commitment. It therefore makes sense to invite the IDYLLEREI artists there. 18 people from the studio take part in the exhibition and show current works, mainly pictures.

These people know no teaching that would have told them which art was right or wrong or beautiful. Or they had teachers, but they simply didn't care about their views. Perhaps there is nothing fundamental in art other than making art. Maybe there is nothing right or wrong or beautiful in art. But maybe you're interested in the direct urge to make something. To show what is there, is in you. Who speaks to you and speaks to you without a period or comma and perhaps gets into a confrontation or even gets in your pants, who knows.

Outsider art from IDYLLER, Nuremberg

The Marthacafé is a cultural space in the eastern part of Nuremberg. It's known for its extraordinary artistic and social commitment. Inviting the artists of IDYLLEREI is therefore an obvious choice. 18 people from the art studio participate in the exhibition and show current works, mostly paintings.

These artists haven't got any education that would have told them which art would be right, wrong or beautiful. Or they had teachers, but their subjects simply did not matter to them. Maybe there is nothing elemental in art except making art. Maybe there is nothing right, wrong or beautiful in art. But maybe you are interested in the direct urge to have to make something. To show what is there, is in you. That speaks to you and speaks to others without full stop and comma and maybe gets into confrontation or fails completely, who knows.
