About Us:

(English version below)

The IDYLLEREI brings together people with disabilities who, without knowing it, were already artists before they started working with us.

Around 20 artists work here on their artistic projects, self-developed, self-designed, independently in this Outsider Art studio. Despite all the diversity of personalities, the artists are characterized by an unbridled passion in the search for their own artistic space of experience. In many cases, the interior is protection from the outside, although the outside can disrupt the interior in an impressive way. In the shared work space of the art studio, the artists experience both themselves and the impact of their work. That rubs. That's irritating. That's stimulating.

The world is felt and expressed. The visual language of the images conveys an unexpected, previously unknown inner life in some of them. The quality of the expression attracts valued attention inside and outside the place of creation. An appreciation. The art space is the source space in which artists with disabilities can let their perceptions flow without having to subordinate themselves to the order of the outside world. And despite all the idealization, and even if that sounds much too nice, the impression that clearly prevails, both from those who create art and from those who lead it (although we always ask ourselves the question of who is actually leading whom here), that things are created in the art space that would otherwise not have emerged anywhere else.

The accompaniment of the artistic processes develops with the changes in the respective individual artistic maturity. There is no curriculum, no syllabus. The artists determine the degree of outside interference through their wishes and requirements. New, different techniques are tried out and explored. In conversations with the group and with individuals, we determine curiosity about other topics or other interests by motivating the artists to find solutions and answers to their questions themselves: reflection, awareness of their own development, self-reflection. In these meetings we discuss conceptual norms of art from art theory, the art business and art history. Every perception, in particular every understanding of perception, is weighted equally.

In this way, we train ourselves to listen to each other, to formulate our own thoughts and to get to know our border areas. The IDYLLEREI art space or the “Outsider” studio in general is recommended as a place to examine the established values in the art world.

How is art created? Where does it begin – where does it end? Is that important?

About us:

IDYLLEREI brings together people with impairments who, without knowing it, were already artists before they started with us.

About 20 artists work here on their artistic projects, self-developed, self-designed, independently in this studio of Outsider Art. Despite the diversity of personalities, the artists are characterized by an unbridled passion in their search for their own artistic space of experience . In many cases, the interior space is the shelter from the exterior space, although the exterior space is allowed to impressively disturb the interior space. In the collaborative workspace of the art studio, the artists and art makers experience themselves on the one hand, and the effect of their work on the other. That rubs. It excites. It stimulates.

The world is sensed and expressed. Through the visual language of the images, an unexpected inner life is conveyed to some artists in a way they had not known before. The quality of the utterance earns a valued attention inside and outside the place of creation. An appreciation. The art space is the source where artists with disabilities can let their perceptions flow without having to submit to the order of the outside world. And despite all the idealization, and even if this sounds far too nice, the impression clearly prevails, both from the artists and from the directors (whereby we at the studio always ask ourselves the question of who is actually directing whom), that things are created in the art space that would not have been created in this way elsewhere.

The guidance of the artistic processes develops with the changes of the respective individual artistic maturity. There is no curriculum, no syllabus. The artists determine the degree of outside interference through their wishes and their requirements. New, different techniques are being tested and explored. In conversations with the group and with the individuals we determine the curiosity for other topics or other interests, motivating the artists to find solutions and answers to their own questions: reflection, perception of their own development, self-reflection. In these opportunities we discuss conceptual norms of art from art theory, art business and art history. Thus every perception especially every understanding of perception is equally weighted.

In this way we train mutual listening, the formulation of our own spaces of thought and getting to know our border areas. IDYLLEREI or the "Outsider" studio in general is recommended as a place to test the established values in the art world.
