Nina Weber

Born in Nuremberg in 1983

(English version below)

Nina Weber visits a facility for people with autism in Nuremberg. She has been working in the art space IDYLLEREI since 2015, currently three days a week.

Her drawings often contain human figures in strange, seemingly closed visual worlds. Walls define spaces in infinite variations, drawing attention to both limits and possibilities. The artificially created space becomes a manageable living space and a showcase for fears, desires, inventions and wishes. Mysterious messages occasionally appear as a series of images or in speech bubbles or as part of the image composition. Even if you look closely, the content is not clear to the viewer.

Participation in the exhibition “zona deformabile” at the kunst galerie fürth, curated by Natalie de Ligt, documented in Fürth, 2018. Participation in the Outsider Art Fair, Paris 2019 and New York 2023. Solo exhibitions in Erlangen, Stein and Nuremberg.

Her drawings often feature human figures in strange, closed-seeing pictorial worlds. Walls define spaces in infinite variations, directing the view to both boundaries and possibilities. The artificially created space becomes a manageable living space as well as a showcase of fears, lusts, inventions, and desires. Enigmatic messages occasionally appear as series of images or in speech bubbles or as part of the image composition. Even on closer inspection, the contents do not reveal themselves to the viewer.
